Instructor: Robert Simpson, Technology Specialist Ferryway School teachers who complete the DM workshop series are eligible for a total of 20 PDPs. Requirements are as follows:

  • Attend and complete all six workshops.
  • Produce one digital media product as part of a lesson.
  • Implement DM enhanced lesson.
  • Share student work using a Web 2.0 tool.

Example: A sixth grade teacher collaboratively develops a lesson with the art teacher in which students develop a book cover consisting of one real image taken with a digital camera, two images downloaded from the Internet under Creative Commons license, and appropriate text. The digital book cover is produced by compositing three different layers in Photoshop Elements and output as a JPEG. After implementing the book cover lesson, students working in teams of two, upload their book covers to a class wiki. Students critique two book covers using a rubric developed by the teachers and their critiques are posted as wiki discussion comments.
